Job Description

The Bookkeeper reports to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining the day-to-day accounting functions and performing general accounting functions, as required. 
The essential job duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: 



  • Compile, process, and maintain a variety of accounts payable information timely and accurately 

  • Perform accounting, payroll, and other clerical functions necessary to support Management

  • Process and enter 200+ invoices per week

  • Code invoices appropriately for each of our office locations

  • Verify approval on all invoices and check requests 

  • Audit and verify expense reports 

  • Prepare and process checks 

  • Update and maintain vendor database 

  • Reconcile vendor statements 

  • Maintain accounts payable files 

  • Prepare 1099 forms as needed

  • Record a variety of business transactions

  • Enter key daily worksheets into the general ledger

  • Prepare daily reports for Management

  • Reconcile holding accounts daily

  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts; reviewing for input accuracy and prepare monthly reports and journal entries, as needed 

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements 

  • Assist with the annual budget and audit process 

  • Petty cash administration and reconciliation 

  • Perform other related duties as may be requested 



REQUIREMENTS:


  • Associates Degree in Accounting or 2 years credits toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

  • 3-5 years Full Charge Bookkeeping experience 

  • Proficient in QuickBooks

  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced work environment 

  • Highly organized and detail oriented 

  • Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Thrives in a collaborative, team player office environment 

  • Ability to interface well with staff and external contacts of the Authority 

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality 

  • Strong organizational skills
